CITIZENSHIP & NATURALIZATION SERVICES: JFVS continues to assist senior refugees in applying for green cards, naturalization and eligible benefits. Case management, advocacy and referral services are also provided on an individual basis.

REFUGEE CENTER WITHOUT WALLS: In 1998 the Center was established in order to enhance the integration of refugees from all nations into mainstream society. Community Strengthening Services for refugees in Middlesex County address the persistent familiar, social and cultural barriers to successful integration into American society. Programs include a variety of ESL and citizenship classes, cultural and holiday celebrations, health education workshops, and advocacy/referral services.

LEADERSHIP TRAINING INSTITUTE: The Institute is open to all refugees with special focus on those individuals showing greatest potential to become change agents within their community and workplace.

REFUGEE ACCESS INSTITUTE: The Institute trains refugees from all nations to secure the services they require to become active members of their new communities. The goal of the program is to eliminate the language barriers between the refugee, citizen and provider of service. Training is focused on access to community mental health and other social services as well as access to the school systems. Assistance is also offered to refugees and immigrants applying for green cards and naturalization.

CROSS CULTURAL TRAINING INSTITUTE: This program provides staff training to community based organizations and school system personnel to work effectively with a diverse refugee client/student population.

CLAIMS AGAINST GERMANY AND OTHER COUNTRIES: JFVS has assisted families with their applications for compensation claims for restitution from the German government for former slave and forced laborers, as well as claims on dormant Swiss bank accounts. Assistance with claims against Austria and Switzerland has also been offered.
