EMPLOYMENT SERVICES FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES

Employment and career advancement opportunities to individuals with disabilities with
specialization in working with persons with traumatic brain injuries, mental health disabilities
and developmental disabilities. Funded by the NJ Division of Vocational Rehabilitation and
the Henry H. Kessler Foundation.

COMPUTER TRAINING

JFVS offers computer training through the Computer Lab and Media Center. High tech
equipment mixed with a comfortable community equals a great learning experience.
  • Classes in Microsoft Word 2003 applications
  • Windows, Word – Beginner and intermediate, Excel – Beginner and Intermediate,
  • PowerPoint, Simple Start for QuickBooks, Keyboarding and Surfing the Internet
  • Open lab times for job search activities and extended learning

THE WOMEN'S CENTER 

The Women's Center is committed to helping women gain personal and economic self-sufficiency and reach their full potential through education, job readiness, networking, outreach, and referrals.

The Women’s Center helps women through major transitions, with focus especially on women who are: separated, divorced, widowed, or whose spouses have become disabled.

We create opportunities and offer free services for women that include:

  • Educational and vocational counseling
  • Career interest and aptitude assessment
  • Information on financial aid for education
  • Job Readiness/job search training
  • Resume writing and Interview preparation
  • Life skills workshops
  • Assertiveness training
  • Money management
  • Computer training in Windows/Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Keyboarding, Simple Start for QuickBooks and Surfing the Internet
We offer workshops in:
  • Self-confidence and self-esteem
  • Assertiveness training
  • Career development
  • Financial planning
  • Legal rights
  • Non-traditional careers
The Women's Center is located in a professional setting ensuring confidentiality and a commitment to helping clients reaching their goals.

The Women's Center provides a supportive environment in which to exchange ideas, develop new skills and meet other women.

The center is part of a statewide effort funded by NJ Department of Community Affairs, 
Division on Women and the United Way of Central Jersey.

EMPLOYER SERVICES

JFVS offers no-cost employment services to businesses seeking to increase their workforce.
Through JFVS’ Career Link Services, employers gain access to well-trained, productive job
seekers who are ready and motivated to work. The benefits of partnering with JFVS includes
access to dependable workers, on-going employee support services, a diverse workforce, job
analyses to make the best job match and determining eligibility for Work Opportunity Tax
Credits. Companies can post their job opportunities with JFVS or schedule an Employer
Spotlight Seminar to recruit directly at the JFVS offices. For more information contact Lisa

Onsite services to employers and their employees are also available on a fee for service
basis and include: Outplacement services to assist in managing your company’s downsizing
and transition needs, employee training and development workshops, computer training and English Language Training.
